Hotels and Accomodations

If you're unsure of anything, please reach out!

We are excited that we finally get to celebrate with our friends and family on Saturday, September 3, 2022. We want to make sure that your experience at the wedding and in Poland is a great one (just like ours has been 😊 ).

DISTRICTS OF WARSAW

  • Srodmiescie - downtown, this is generally a great neighbourhood to stay in, however is has some pockets that are better than others. Personally, we would avoid staying near the PKiN (Palace of Culture) and avoid near the Warsaw Central Train Station (Warszawa Centralna)

  • Wola - This is the up and coming business district. It's nice as it's becoming very modern and a big part of Warsaw's skyline. It is well connected by tram (streetcar), buses and by metro. The downside is that it can be a bit sleepy at night.

  • Stare Miasto - the old town. Not well connected by transit. Don't dare drive here with a car because of the traffic. You are best off to bike here with city bikes or walk over from a couple of blocks over (e.g. from Place Bankowy).

  • Zoliborz - known as Zielony Zoliborz or green Zoliborz. It's home to the picturesque Stefan Zeromski Park and Place Wilsona, which. is rich in history. It also has a metro connection. This area is quiet, safe, has amenities but is a bit removed from downtown. That being said, the metro gets you downtown in mere minutes.

  • Mokotow - popular with both locals and expats

  • Wilanow - very popular with the British. Downside is that you typically need a car or you will need to take a bus.

  • Urysynow - connected by metro but suburban and a bit sleepy.

  • Praga - think Hamilton, Ontario. Or think Brooklyn to NYC. Yes, that might be a bit generous, but it feels like Praga is having it's moment with the hipsters. Great skyline views of the city from this side, lots of art and culture. It also tends to be cheaper here. And although it has cleaned up a TON and is great during the day, at night, some people may still feel unsafe or uneasy compared to other districts. If you're fine with a distric that doesn't colour inside of the lines, Praga is for you!

  • Targowek - We probably wouldn't stay here.

NOTE: Please do reach out if you want a second opinion

BUDGET HOTEL SUGGESTIONS

  • Ibis Hotels (multiple locations)

  • Campanile Hotel

  • A&O hotel Wola

HOSTELS - if you want the party experience or a more youthful experience

  • Oki Doki Hostel Stare Miasto (Old Town) is arguably your best bet!

HIGH END HOTELS

  • Raffles Hotel

  • Hotel Warszawa

  • Marriott Hotel

  • Westin Hotel

  • Hotel Bristol - Small rooftop cafe for guests only

AIRBNBs - typically your best value

  • Just be sure to ask for an internet speed test if you are planning to work remotely. Also ask if the internet connection is shared with other units.

  • Ask if the unit has air conditioning if that matters to you.

  • Ask if check-in can be done at any time and if checkin is automated. Sometimes you will still need to meet a person no later than a certain time.
